Gamers could shortly be returning to the mean, automaton-filled streets of House physician Evil's Raccoon City, and bringing some buddies along with them to a fault.

Capcom may have hired Lean Six Games, the Canadian developer behind SOCOM: Tactical Strike and Confrontation, to create a new team-based, multiplayer Resident Wicked game. This entropy reportedly comes via leaked documents that gives the game's working rubric as Resident Evil: Racoon Metropolis.

Aside from the name and the developer, there aren't a lot of details about this supposed game. Pickings Slant Six's previous games into account – three SOCOM titles since its creation in 2005 – it's possible IT's some kinda military-style shooter, peradventure perfect either an existent military comportment or one of the Umbrella force units, like the squad Carlos Oliveira belonged to in Resident Flagitious 3. Of course, this is every last exactly speculation with nothing but fairly filiform specific tell apart to back it aweigh.

The homepage on the Slant Six internet site says that the studio is currently functioning on a "new publishing partner on a world class franchise," and earlier in the twelvemonth, it was looking to employ a Japanese translator. Moreover, several Slant Six employees list an "unheralded action game" for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on their LinkedIn profiles. Again, this is hardly conclusive, only it would all fit if the rumors prove to be true.

The idea of a full-happening, multiplayer Resident Perversive certainly isn't outside the realms of opening, Capcom has tried information technology ahead with Resident Harmful: Outbreak happening the PS2. It also wouldn't be the front big dealership that Capcom has farmed out to a Western developer recently. There's null that sets off alarm bells, or is clearly false, but for instantly, we're sensible going to have to wait for more information. We've contacted Slant Six for comment and will update if/when they answer.
